9 out of 10 students who study in government schools drop out before the 10th grade. U&I Teach is an after school program that aims to educate the lesser privileged youth and help them stay in school. We provide individual attention to students with a 1:3 teacher to student ratio. We provide tuition classes to our students which helps them excel at difficult subjects like math and science.

Most of our students are first generation learners whose first language is a local language. We aim to teach these children English in order to make them eligible to study in a college of their choice and increase their employability. We also aim to reach out to the students who have already dropped out of school and have no basic education. We want to make sure these kids have an opportunity to learn as well.

At U&I we believe in a holistic education model that can help a child develop as a well rounded individual. Our Teach program provides 360 degree care which includes career days, life skills training, access to a library of books, field trips, medical camps and even counselling.

U&I has centres in 20 cities across India with volunteers from the best colleges and corporations educating, equipping and empowering a generation!

A majority of our students who attend school struggle with their studies. They are either unmotivated or lack the necessary help to do well in school. Even in lower income communities, paid tuition classes are not of much help as the teacher-student ratio is very high, sometimes going up to 1:40. Students don’t end up learning much at all.

With a teacher-student ratio of 1:3, our teachers are able to ensure that students understand what they are learning and are able to not just keep up but excel in school. They also keep the students motivated and help them prepare for their exams.

Research shows that being able to
speak English well increases a student’s employability by 400%.
The English Course consists of five levels from Primary to Advanced. It is an activity based curriculum developed by
    Macmillan Publishers and is engaging
and interesting for the student as well
    as the teachers.

Knowledge of basic spoken English has the potential to double a young person's income.
